SR 6006 over SR 107 Preservation

For the rehabilitation and improvement of a certain section of STATE HIGHWAY in LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Mayfield Borough, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, STATE ROUTE 6006, SECTION P01. The purpose of this project is to provide safe and efficient access across Rush Brook Creek and SR 197 with a structure that meets current design standards and can carry current legal loads. The bridge preservation project is needed due to deteriorated steel members, fascia stringers, floor beams and gusset plates. Repairs are required due to collision damage with lower chord of truss. Bridge Preservation on State Route 6006 (Scranton Carbondale Highway) over Rush Brook Creek in Mayfield Borough, Lackawanna County. Preservation actions include the replacement of stringer connection components and the strengthening of existing members by adding additional steel to increase member cross sectional areas. Traffic will be maintained through one lane by means of a temporary signal on SR 6006 and at times on SR 0107. All work within a total project length of 440 linear feet (0.083 miles), all as indicated on the approved drawings included in the bid package.
