Rural Advanced Metering Infrastructure Expansion

The proposing Consultant shall replace/upgrade the City’s existing AMR system in the rural water service area with an Advanced Metering Infrastructure solution as follows: 1. The Itron AMR metering and endpoint technology (approximately 3,222 meters) with locations shown in Exhibit B shall be replaced with the new meters and endpoints capable of being read by the existing Elster AMI system or, alternatively by a new AMI network compatible with the Elster Head end, or alternatively by a new AMI Head end that is integrated into the City’s current Meter to Cash system including MDM and CIS systems. 2. The Master Meter AMR endpoint technology (approximately 7,089 meters) with locations shown in Exhibit B shall be replaced with new endpoints (meters to remain in service if possible) capable of being read by the existing Elster AMI system or, alternatively by a new AMI network compatible with the Elster Head End, or alternatively by a new AMI Head end that is integrated into the City’s current Meter to Cash system including MDM and CIS systems. 3. The Elster Meter AMR endpoint technology (approximately 6,510 meters) located outside the Elster AMI network boundary shown in Exhibit B may be replaced with new endpoints (meters to remain in service if possible) capable of being read by a new AMI network compatible with the Elster Head End, or alternatively by a new AMI Head End that is integrated into the City’s current Meter to Cash system including MDM and CIS systems.
