Description

Questions regarding this bid should be sent via email to bidquestions@douglascounty-ne.gov. Vendor must include the bid title in the subject line. The deadline to submit questions on this bid is 11:00 a.m. on the Thursday before the bid opening date. Answers to questions will be posted via an addendum no later than the Friday before bid opening at www.douglascountypurchasing.org. Requirement for Bid Bond: The surety company issuing the bid bond should be licensed by the State of Nebraska and listed on the current edition of Circular 570 of the United States Department of the Treasury. A certified check, an official bank check, or cashier's checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to the City of Omaha, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable) are acceptable substitutes for bond requirements. LETTERS OF CREDIT AND COMPANY CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTES FOR A BID BOND AND WOULD BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF BID. If a bidder submits more than one bid, only one bid bond is required; however, the 5% bid bond must be calculated using the highest bid amount of all submitted bids. GENERAL This specification describes the general requirements for repairs and refurbishing one Worthington 16" centrifugal pump. The pump model is 14-MNF-16, MFG, serial number 88Z003086-1 rate for GPM 5,000 at (7.2 MGD) at 42 feet TDH at 885 rpm. The pump is located at the City of Omaha's Missouri River Water Resource Recovery Facility. The City of Omaha will provide a crane lift to get the pump onto the load out dock. Contractor is responsible for prepping and rigging components on load out dock. Contractor is responsible to take pump components rigged by contractor and place it on transport vehicle. Contractor will be responsible for uncoupling of motor from pump. Disconnecting all bolts required for removal of pump. Rigging the pump to be removed, and removing the pump from Trickling Filter room. All tools and rigging required to remove pump, as well as unrigging pump when placed on truck is the contractor's responsibility. All safety equipment and procedures to complete the above tasks are the contractor's responsibility. It is the Contractor's responsibility to follow Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction 2003 3rd Edition. Before pump is installed, contractor will approve pipe, pump base, and mating surfaces are in satisfactory condition for proper operation. Contact person for this work is Jeff Saltzman, City Maintenance Superintendent (402) 669-6016. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Transportation to the rebuild facility and back to the City site for installation is the contractor's responsibility. 2. Unhook seal water. 3. Disassemble pump completely including volute, clean and bead blast all components and inspect the pump. 4. Replace all gaskets and seals with new ones. 5. Supply new pump shaft and verify total run out is within .002" and provide report to the City. 6. Remove and install new wear ring. 7. Install new impeller to OEM specifications. 8. Remove volute wear ring and install new one. 9. Machine true front head ring fit. 10. Supply the following new pump components that are OEM approved with documentation they are OEM approved: o Pump shaft o Impellar o Impeller wear ring o Casing wear ring o Impeller key o Impeller nut o Impeller washer o Shaft sleeves o Volute gasket o Lip seals o All bearings and grease o Bearing lock washer o Bearing lock nut o Tetra seal o Shims o Front head case ring o Wear ring o Deflector Page 3 of 4 o Water seal ring o Replace grease shields. o Coat stuffing box bore and pump volute as needed. o Any other miscellaneous hardware for pump build up 11. Coat the outside of discharge head with Tnemec epoxy to match existing. 12. Provide any coupler needed to complete installation. 11. Deliver pump to site, rig pump and move pump and motor and set in place. Install pump, ensure all pump components are in line with drive line, hook seal water back up and put into service.
