Chula Vista Bayfront Parks - Sweetwater Park

Plans call for new 21-acre waterfront park on the Chula Vista Bayfront: Sweetwater Park. Proposed features include meadow-type open space with amenities such as: native landscaping, lighting, restrooms/maintenance building, drinking fountains, bicycle racks, children play areas, picnic areas, benches, trash receptacles, interpretive signage, landscaped berms, public art, permeable paving, water quality features and parking. As of August 4 2022, this project is in the design phase. The Port of San Diego Board of Commissioners approved a coastal development permit in April 2020. The approved coastal development permit will allow for completion of the design of the park. The project recently received funding to move forward.
