Description | Site Directions: Sheridan Road at Bull Creek in Beach Park. Approximately 800-feet South of Wadsworth Road. Bids will be received for the S4 Interceptor Sewer Improvements located at the Bull Creek crossing of Sheridan Road. The work generally consists of an interceptor reroute as a result of an IDOT culvert reconstruction project. A Bid shall be enclosed in an opaque sealed envelope clearly marked with the Project title (and, if applicable, the designated portion of the Project for which the Bid is submitted), the name and address of Bidder, and shall be accompanied by the Bid security and other required documents. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be directed to the ENGINEER: HMG Engineers, Inc. - Christopher S. Bouchard, PE (847) 362-5959 DRAWINGS OF EXISTING STRUCTURES: Drawings of physical conditions in or relating to existing surface and subsurface structures used in preparing the Bidding Documents are on file at the North Shore Water Reclamation District, P.O. Box 750, 14770 W. Wm. Koepsel Drive, Gurnee, Illinois 60031, and may be examined by contacting the Director of Engineering Services at 847-623-6060. SUBSURFACE CONDITION REPORTS: Reports of explorations and tests of subsurface conditions used in preparing the Bidding Documents were obtained from IDOT's consultant for their culvert replacement project and are on file for inspection at all offices listed for inspecting Bidding Documents. Copies are available at no cost and may be obtained when requesting Bidding Documents. LEGAL PROVISIONS: CONTRACTORS and Subcontractors shall conform to the "Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act", (820 ILCS 265/1 et seq.); and with the provisions of 29 CFR Part 470. WAGE RATES: This Contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires CONTRACTORS and Subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. All CONTRACTORS and Subcontractors rendering services under this Contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage, notice and record keeping duties. BID SECURITY: Bid Security in the amount of not less than 5% of the Bid shall accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. CONTRACT SECURITY: The Bidder to whom a Contract is awarded shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in an amount equal to the Contract Price. BID REJECTION/ACCEPTANCE: The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, waive informalities in bidding, or to accept the Bid or Bids, which best serves the interests of the OWNER. BID WITHDRAWAL: No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the scheduled opening of the bids without the consent of OWNER. |
