Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping at the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO)

Mowing: Site will be mowed, trimmed, and cleaned of clippings (blown) once every week during mowing season (minimum April – October) and will continue until such time as growing has sufficiently slowed for the year. Mowing will not take place during drought, or when growth is not evident. Mowing and trimming around all obstacles, raking, removal of clippings and debris from walkways, curbs, parking areas, and two (2) roundabouts and associated islands. Contractor employees will always remain aware of and courteous to airport patrons and traffic in and around mowing operation. Edging: All beds and mulched trees will be trimmed after each mowing to maintain delineation between turf and bed/mulched areas. All sidewalks, curbs, and other paved areas will be edged every visit. Edge shall be maintained at a 90 degree angle. Edge should never exceed 1/2 inch in width. All debris from edging operations shall be removed and areas swept or blown clean.
