Description

Goals: Minority and women's business enterprises are encouraged. General description for FY19-20: Improvements are being installed in phases. Only FY19-20 improvements are included in this bid package. Phasing limits in large part are determined by irrigation system layout. There may be some overlap in phasing areas depending on locations of water meters and controllers, in order to provide irrigation to new improvements while maintaining irrigation service to existing areas improved under previous phases or areas designated for improvements under future phases. Locations, layouts, and condition of existing irrigation systems as it interfaces with FY19-20 work will need to be field verified. This bid includes landscape and irrigation improvements for the street frontage and park areas on the west side of N. Corrine Drive from E. Melody Lane north to E. Hartwell Road and the frontage area on the east side of N. Corrine Drive from E. Melody north to E. Hartwell. The Town reserves the right to reduce the scope of work or eliminate some items in this contract. Work includes: 1. Preservation and protection of existing landscape areas, plantings, irrigation system, boulders, pavements, walls, or other structures to remain or to be improved under future phases. 2. Restoration of all pavements, curbs, walls, structures, landscaping, irrigation, rock ground cover and other surfaces or features to remain which are disturbed as a result of work under this project phase. 3. Maintaining existing irrigation service to areas improved under previous phases or designated for improvements under future phases. 4. New tree and shrub plantings for FY19-20 areas as indicated on plans. 5. New planting material as specified on landscape construction documents. 6. New irrigation material as specified on the landscape construction documents. 7. Removal of existing decomposed granite in this phase of work. 8. Turf removal as shown and noted. 9. Restoration of existing river run rock. 10. New concrete header as shown. 11. Fine grading/excavation along edge of header, walk, and curb within FY19-20 area to allow for new granite installation. 12. Providing and installing decomposed granite in FY19-20 area to provide a 2” minimum depth in landscape planting areas and 1” below curbs or adjacent pavement. (Match existing D.G. color and size). D.G. sample must be provided and approved by the Town of Gilbert prior to installation. 13. Abandonment of portions of the existing irrigation system no longer in use in FY19-20 area unless otherwise indicated on plans. At grade or above grade components within FY19-20 project area to be removed. Below grade components can be abandoned in place providing there is no conflict with new improvements. 14. Using the existing water meter and backflow preventer as indicated on the plan set. Connecting to existing mainline. 15. Unless otherwise noted or approved, all extra materials, debris, or materials removed as part of work under this project and not intended for reuse shall be disposed legally offsite.
