Description | The work includes the provision of all labor, materials, equipment and all incidental related work for the proposed area of scope approximately 25,500 square feet located on the first level of Building 300 within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC). The existing flooring throughout the first floor must be removed and properly disposed of in preparation for a new poured epoxy terrazzo flooring design. The quarry tile in the Cafeteria/ Kitchen/ Dining areas are not included in this scope of work and will be addressed in future projects. The Contractor is to ensure that the concrete slab is prepped and sealed for moisture barrier/isolation membrane prior to the installation of the new flooring. The flooring continues under an existing “Blue” Auditorium divider wall which will require the demolition of the wall and must be replaced with a proposed construction of a new feature wall. This new feature wall must be prepped ready with conduits and electrical wires and data cables/ for future Audio/Visual equipment installation. The existing electrical conduits in the floor will need to be removed and replaced with a pair of new conduits and cables. One conduit for electrical cables and the other conduit for the telecommunications cables per design. There will be one area that will get an additional conduit and cable for a fiber run for LabNet cables. Some special condition areas throughout the flooring project will need to be addressed such as the existing floor access panel to a manhole in the North hallway and other areas where items built over the flooring will need to be temporarily removed and reinstalled. A life safety study was performed which will require some additions and modifications to existing conditions in the building that will need to be corrected per ADA/ (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements. |
