Industrial Training Center Renovation at Lamar State College-Port Arthur

The scope of the project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the renovation of both stories of the existing Armory building and a new 8,000 square foot free standing building joining the North side of the Armory building. The first floor of the existing Armory building is 17,115 square feet and the second floor is 6,979 square feet all to be renovated and upgraded to support a state-of-the-art technical educational training facility for industrial training instruction. The scope for the project is to provide industrial training instruction space and required associated support spaces for welding, electrical, instrument technicians, advanced riggers, pipefitters, structural steel workers, HVAC, and scaffolding. The renovation includes accessible restrooms and showers with lockers, a student lounge, required IDF and MDF Data rooms, and administrative spaces. The new 7,325 square foot building will support three new classrooms that function independently but also can be subdivided and maximized as one large multipurpose lecture and/or gathering space as required. Restrooms and all other required ancillary spaces are included in the new wing. The total combined project will be approximately 30,800 square feet.
