Description

Police Station Slate Roof Repairs Plans/Specification Available 9/7/23 Question Deadline 09/20/2023 at 5:00 PM ET The project scope consists ofselective slate tile replacement and gutter system repair. The intent is to provide a sound roofsystem that is leak free and weathertight. At project completion the Contractor is to provide a written guarantee that covers defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 1 year for all work performed under this contract. 1. All work is to be coordinated with others performing carpentry & painting work on the cupola. 2. Furnish all materials and equipment for general conditions required under this scope of work. 3. Furnish, erect maintain and remove, when directed all scaffolds, staging and rigging where required for roof and gutter system repairs. 4. Removal of up to 50 slate tiles and replace with new ofthe same grade and color. 5. Repairs to the front inside seams ofthe gutters that have opened up. EPDM flashing tape is to be used over the open seams only. 6. Straighten a bend in the front gutter ensuring that the integrity ofthe gutter is maintained. 7. Insert a new drip edge extension under the existing one at the bell tower roofto prevent water from getting behind the existing dripedge. 8. The lower copper roofat the bell tower is to be replaced with a new 20oz. copper flat lock seam roof. All seams are to be fully soldered and flashing is to extend up the walls a minimum of 4 inches. 9. One soil pipe flashing is to be resealed at the pipe to flashing connection. 10. The wall flashing at the rear flat roofneeds to be resealed. Existing sealant is to be removed, any loose counter flashing refastened, and the joint resealed.
