Description | Per the project contact, as of June 15, 2023, the current schedule for award of the construction contract is in the third quarter of 2024. The general contractor will be selected by a public bidding process in the third quarter of 2024. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. ……………….. Consultants must direct all inquiries to the City in writing, via email to Tony Nisich, P.E. tnisich@mnsengineers.com. All inquiries will be responded to in writing, and questions and responses will be disseminated to all consultant teams for their consideration. The origination of the questions will not be disclosed. All inquiries must be received no later than Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 5pm in order to receive responses from the City. The City owns and operates the wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal facilities that serve a population of approximately 17,700 residents. The collection system has nearly 4,000 sewer connections, most of which are residential. There are about 150 commercial connections and around ten industrial connections. The City's existing WWTP was originally constructed in 1978 and has since been upgraded and expanded several times. The WWTP consists of a headworks that includes a bar screen and splitter box, three primary clarifiers to remove settleable solids, and a series of aeration ponds to reduce biological oxygen demand. Treated effluent is disposed via spreading and percolating effluent in disposal fields adjacent to the aeration ponds. Sludge and scum from the primary clarifiers are pumped to an aerobic digester. Digested sludge is sent to sludge drying beds where the moisture evaporates, and the dried sludge is hauled offsite to a landfill. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. |
