Description | Project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to construct and provide fully functional systems consisting of the construction of proposed improvements to seven (7) existing oxygenation trains, construction of two (2) new electrical buildings, yard piping and site improvements at the South District Wastewater Treatment Plant (SDWWTP), located at 8950 SW 232nd Street Miami, Florida, 33190. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: 1. Demolition - Site a. Demolition of existing piping, pavement, conduits and duct banks as indicated in the Plans 2. Demolition - Oxygenation Trains 1 to 7 a. Demolition of existing pipe penetrations into Oxygenation Trains 1 to 7. b. Enlargement of existing baffle wall openings. c. Demolition of existing effluent weirs. d. Demolition of existing 36-inch RAS pipelines at Oxygenation Trains 1 to 4 and Oxygenation Trains 5 to 7. e. Removal and salvage of existing flowmeters and knife gate valves. f. Demolition of existing 48-inch process water connections at Oxygenation Trains 1 to 7. g. Demolition of existing low-pressure oxygen pipeline as indicated in the contract documents. h. Demolition of existing mechanical aerators. i. Demolition of existing electrical conduits to equipment in the existing concrete slab of Oxygenation Trains 1 to 4 and 5 to 7 j. Demolition of existing electrical equipment in UNOX Electrical building 1-4 and 5-8 related to the existing oxygenation system in Oxygenation trains 1 to 4 and 5 to 7. 3. Construction - Oxygenation Trains 1 to 7: a. Retrofitting of oxygenation trains with step feed capability. b. Perform structural rehabilitation repairs of Oxygenation Trains 1 to 7. c. Construction of new concrete slab with electrical conduits and access ramps over existing concrete slab of Oxygenation trains 1 to 4 and 5 to 7. d. Furnishing and installation of new mechanical aerators, blowers, gates, valves, and other process mechanical equipment. e. Furnishing and installation of new sensors, including flow meters, gas samplers, wastewater analyzers, and gas detection. 4. Construction - Oxygenation Trains 1-4 and 5-8 Electrical Buildings a. Construction of two (2) new electrical buildings for Oxygenation trains 1 to 4 and 5 to 7. b. Furnishing and installation of new fire alarm system, electrical systems, SCADA system (supply of select SCADA equipment by SCADA Equipment Supplier), conduits, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, control panels, and lighting systems. c. Furnishing and installation of new HVAC systems, water source heat pumps (WHPs) cooling water pumps (CWPs), cooling towers (CTs), fans, air ducts and air purification system. d. Furnishing and installation, doors, windows and rollup doors. e. Furnishing and installation of all plumbing. f. Furnishing and installation of all appurtenances for control room. 5. Construction - Site and Yard Piping a. Site grading and construction of new yard piping and electrical conduits to connect new structures to the SDWWTP existing electrical, water, sewer, process water, fire alarm and SCADA systems. b. Construction of new pavement and sidewalks around new structures. c. Improvements to the SDWWTP potable water, fire water and plant water distribution networks, including replacement of existing yard piping. d. Contractor shall expose all tie-in locations prior to preparation of Shop Drawings. e. Contractor is responsible for groundwater dewatering as well as any dewatering and disposal of dewatered fluids from the pipe itself for all tie-ins. f. Isolation valves are available for all tie-ins; however, the Contractor shall assume that all tie-ins will require additional temporary isolation provided by the Contractor should the isolation valves not completely shut. |
