Description

For Phase II - Dunham Public Library The Dunham Public Library invites sealed bids for the interior renovation and exterior repair for Phase II at the Dunham Public Library, 76 Main Street, Whitesboro, New York. You are invited to bid on the above project which will consist of one (1) prime contract as follows: General Construction In general, the scope of work includes interior renovation of the Dunham Public Library including a new gender-neutral toilet room; new interior finishes and lighting, and the removal and installation of new flooring at first floor stack area; renovation of (2) existing toilet rooms at the community room, new ACP ceiling and interior painting at Room 129 and the demolition of interior partition walls to create a small meeting room on the first floor. The scope of work also includes a new gender-neutral toilet room at the second floor of the West Entrance including new plumbing fixtures, electrical work and finishes. Plumbing for the new toilet room on the second floor was roughed-in during Phase I directly below. The Owner will remove and re-install the existing book stacks at the first floor including the removal of the existing circulation and information desk. The installation of new flooring at the stack area is to be performed in three phases so the library can maintain operation. Exterior renovation work includes the removal of the existing brick masonry chimney on the north elevation of the Dunham House as indicated in the documents. Repair at the roof includes the structural infill at the chimney opening above the roof of the low sloped EPDM roof membrane and infill and repair to the existing roof eave of the Dunham House Award will be made by the DUNHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY to the lowest responsible bidder. Bonafide contract bidders may secure additional copies of the proposed Contract Documents at Syracuse Blueprint Co., Inc., 825 East Genesee Street, Syracuse, New York 13210, Telephone - (315) 476-4084 Deposit check shall be made payable to "Dunham Public Library." The project may be reviewed online; Website: syracuseblueprint.com. No partial sets will be issued. All bids must be accompanied by a non-collusive certification as required by Section 103-d of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York. Each bid must be secured by a certified check or a bank draft or a properly executed bid bond in an amount equal to at least 5% of the entire bid and made payable to the "Dunham Public Library". If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the bid and marked as above must be enclosed in another envelope addressed to April Bliss, Library Director, "Phase II - Dunham Public Library," Dunham Public Library, 76 Main Street, Whitesboro, New York 13492, preferably by registered mail, and be received there on or before the time designated for opening. The DUNHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any or all bids. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the bid opening thereof. If upon acceptance of his bid, a bidder fails to enter into a contract with the Dunham Public Library for Phase II - Dunham Public Library, the bid security shall be forfeited to and become the property of the Owner. Bidders are not to include in their bid proposal sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York, and of counties, or cities, on all materials, equipment, and supplies incorporated in this project. This is a capital improvement project; sales tax is not to be applied to labor or materials. The construction schedule will be split into two stages under (1) contract. The following scope of work to completed shall be completed in 3 months with start of construction on March 20, 2023 and to be substantially complete by June 9, 2023 for the following scope of work: (1) new gender-neutral toilet room (Room 111) and adjacent staff sink; including new interior finishes and lighting, and the removal and installation of new flooring at first floor stack area; and (1) new gender-neutral toilet room (Room 208) at the second floor of the West Entrance.
