C. Elizabeth Rieg Center - Limited Renovation

Rieg Regional Education Center construction services comprise limited renovation and improvements to the existing special education program. As a limited renovation, Reig must include five major systemic projects, in addition to educational upgrades. The project will include selected educational program enhancements and systemic renovations. Systemic Renovations and Improvements: 1. Replace existing univents and piping in the entire building 2. Replace exterior and interior doors and hardware 3. Replace existing acoustical ceiling system in the entire building 4. Replace sprinkler system to meet current code and fire protection in the entire building 5. Replace existing water system from a 3" to a 6" main 6. Replace corridor VCT flooring in the entire building 7. Replace Gym/Multipurpose Room flooring to meet ADA requirements and program requirements 8. Educational Enhancements a) Redesign current workshop into five different spaces 1. Health Suite to meet current program standards, 2. A Life Skills Lab with instructional kitchen, laundry and storage 3. A speech therapy room 4. A classroom with an ADA accessible bathroom 5. A teacher’s office b) Renovate current Nurse’s suite and instructional space into Occupational/Physical Therapy Lab (OT/PT), and a large classroom with ADA accessible bathroom c) Redesign classroom space to convert the four Observatory Rooms into ADA bathrooms and storage space d) Renovate bathroom/plumbing fixtures/toilet/shower in classrooms 222 & 228, and e) Demolish ADA inaccessible green house and replace it with ADA accessible courtyard and garden that can be utilized by students
