Description

Mill & Overlay approximately 9 miles of US 45A from south of SR 8 to the Monroe County Line, known as Federal Aid Project No. NH-0079-02(018) / 108222301 & 302 in Monroe & Chickasaw Counties. Value Estimate Range - $15,000,000 - $20,000,000. Project Completion: 136 Working Days For Federal Aid Projects the attention of bidders is directed to the contract provisions governing selection and employment of labor contained in the bid proposal. Minimum wage rates for Federal Aid Projects have been predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and are subject to Public Law 87-581, Work Hours Act of 1962, as set forth in the contract provisions. Unless otherwise set out in the bid proposal, all other projects are subject to the predetermined minimum wage rate set by the U.S. Department of Labor under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The Mississippi Department of Transportation hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, religion or national origin in consideration for an award. When a DBE goal is contained in the contract, the award will be contingent upon the Contractor satisfying the DBE requirements. Bid bond, signed or countersigned by a Mississippi Resident Agent or qualified non-resident agent, with Power of Attorney attached or on file with the Contract Administration Engineer of the Department, a Cashier's Check or Certified Check for five (5%) percent of bid, payable to STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, must accompany each proposal. MSDOT - 007 - Mill and Overlay Approximately 9 Miles of US 45A *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The completion of work to be performed by the Contractor for this project will not be a specified date but shall be when all allowable working days are assessed, or any extension thereto as provided in Subsection 108.06. It is anticipated that the Notice of Award will be issued no later than February 14, 2023 and the date for Notice to Proceed / Beginning of Contract Time will be March 16, 2023. Should the Contractor request a Notice to Proceed earlier than March 16, 2023 and it is agreeable with the Department for an early Notice to Proceed, the requested date will become the new Notice to Proceed date. Regardless of whether or not an early Notice to Proceed is granted, contract time will start at the original Notice to Proceed date. All requests for an early Notice to Proceed shall be sent to the Project Engineer who will forward it to the Contract Administration Division. 136 Working Days have been allowed for the completion of work on this project. PRE-BID MEETING A pre-bid meeting will be held in the Commission Room on the 1 st Floor of the MDOT Administration Building in Jackson, at 2:00 P.M. on the day preceding the date of the bid opening. This meeting is to inform DBE firms of subcontracting and material supply opportunities. Attendance at this meeting. All Bidders must submit to the Office of Civil Rights for approval, Form OCR-481 (DBE Commitment) no later than the 3 rd business day after opening of the bids to satisfy the Department and that adequate good faith efforts have been made to meet the contract goal. Inverted profile thermoplastic pavement markings consists of furnishing materials and placing inverted profile thermoplastic pavement markings in reasonably close conformity with these specifications and the details shown on the plans or established. Inverted profile thermoplastic pavement markings, high contract, shall consist of furnishing materials and placing inverted profile thermoplastic pavement markings over a black thermoplastic pavement marking in order to enhance the marking's visibility.
