Description | As the landfill has expanded over the years with more sections being developed and receiving an increasing amount of refuse, there has been a corresponding increase in the volume of landfill leachate generated, prompting the need for the landfill to pretreat leachate prior to discharging into the sewer system to comply with the County's local Significant Industrial User requirements. The landfill pump station and force main project is an project being conducted in conjunction with the landfill pretreatment facility project that is currently under design.This project entails the construction of a small package pump station, package valve vault, and approximately 7,700 LF of 4-inch diameter DIP force main. Approximately less than half of the force main will be constructed along the landfill's perimeter haul road, while the other half with be constructed in the road right-of-way.
