Description | The Birthplace of America Trail (BoAT) is the centerpiece of a regional active transportation system that includes the South Hampton Roads Trail and the Virginia Capital Trail. The section through Newport News extends from James City County near Newport News Park to York County near Denbigh Blvd and Independence Blvd. Section 1B is along Warwick Blvd at Falls Reach Parkway, up Elmhurst, and then up Yorktown Rd to Chelsea Place This project is in included in the City of Newport News FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of July 11, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
