Description 1. Ditch will remain the same width as it currently is but will need to be cleaned up. 2. Contractor shall use jute mats on roadside embankments with grass to prevent erosion. 3. Contractor shall employ erosion control methods. 4. Underground public utilities are present in this area. It is up to the contractor to notify Dig Safe and to check with Water and Sewer 5. Culvert is be slip lined and not replaced. 6. All material shall be compacted between lifts. A standard lift is 12 inches. 7. Riprap both the intake and discharge ends of the culverts. 8. Geotextile fabric shall be used under all Riprap. 9. Town of Farmingdale shall provide all culverts, couplers and other necessary hardware for connecting the culverts. 10. If water and sewer lines are encountered they are to be insulated to prevent freezing. 11. If the Contractor wishes to close the road to perform the work the Town of Farmingdale shall be notified a minimum three (3) days prior to the closure and the Contractor shall be required to notify the public of the road closure for no less than three (3) days prior to the closure. The Contractor shall also notify the Road Commissioner, Chief Constable, Fire Chief, Dig Safe, Gardiner Ambulance Service, Gardiner Water District, RSU# 2 and any other utilities in the project area. 12. Culverts shall be installed by Town Ordinance and Manufacturers recommendations. In the event of a conflict the Manufacturers installation recommendations will be followed. 13. The width of the rip rap at the widest part of the channel on the South side is approximately 34 feet. The widest part of the rip rap on the north side is approx. 25 feet 14. The size of the rip rap should be 4” to 6” stone. All new material should be used from the culvert up. 15. There are approx. 25 trees, dead and alive that will need to be removed, some of these trees are already down and laying over the channel these trees are marked with red tape and they are approximately 2” to 10” in diameter.
