Description | The major items of work include mill and inlay of Runway 16-34 (17-35), runway safety area grading, storm drainage and lighting improvements. The proposed bid range for the project is from $3,500,000 to $4,000,000. The entire project, including cleanup, shall be physically completed within 46 calendar days over two phases of work. This project is funded with federal and states funds and City of Auburn monies. Requirements stipulated for Federal and other governmental funding have been incorporated into the Contract Documents and require full compliance by the Contractor and any subcontractor hired by the Contractor. The mandatory Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal on this project is 5% certified DBE. All prospective Bidders are directed to the Bid Proposal Package with regard to the procedures the City of Auburn will utilize to achieve these goals. The City anticipates the award of the project will occur within 120 calendar days of the bid opening. Due to long lead constraints, the City intends that the project will be awarded and long lead-time materials are ordered in Winter 2023 and then the work will be suspended and split into two phases, both anticipated to be constructed in Spring/Summer 2024. See anticipated schedule below: - December 2023 - Bid opening - December 2023 - Execute construction contract with Contractor - December 2023-January 2024 - Submit and review submittals for long-lead time electrical items. Contractor to procure as soon as practical. - April 29, 2024 - Phase 1 work (28 calendar days) begins. Contract will be in suspension at conclusion of Phase 1 work. Phase 1 work start day will be at the convenience of the Owner, and the date is subject to change. - July 8, 2024 - Phase 2 work (18 calendar days) begins. Phase 2 work start day will be at the convenience of the Owner, and the date is subject to change. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check or proposal bond (surety bond) in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such Contract and furnish satisfactory Contract Bond within the time stated in the Bid Documents, the bid deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Auburn. Disadvantaged, Minority, and Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive technicalities or irregularities and to accept any bid if such action is believed to be for the best interest of the City of Auburn. |
