Nathan Hale 20/21 Timber Sale

This sale is a marked thinning of approximately 65 acres of 35 year old longleaf and an operator select thinning of approximately 18 acres of 24 year old slash pine from Jennings State Forest (SFI Certified Forest #NSF-SFI-FM-C0245755) in Duval County, Florida. Timber to be removed from the longleaf stand includes all trees marked with blue or orange paint. Unmarked timber is not to be harvested or damaged. Timber to be removed from the slash pine stand includes every fourth row for access and select trees in the leave rows to reach a desired basal area of 60-65 square feet per acre. Trees to be removed include diseased, forked or suppressed trees and a portion of the Intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the target basal area. The Forester-In-Charge must approve of all skid trails and logging decks. Sale boundaries are roads, fire lines, wetlands or obvious timber type changes. The total estimated volume to be cut is 1,661 tons of pine pulpwood and 751 tons of pine chip and saw and better. This will be a six (6) month contract.
