Description

For post-fire mitigation construction services for point mitigation projects (localized, small scale projects to protect values at risk). This proposal does not involve work related to aerial mulching. Various post-fire mitigation methods have been proven to reduce erosion and sedimentation that may affect water quality, infrastructure and lives of the citizenry located within, adjacent, or down slope of the fire perimeter. Using the USFS soil burn severity assessment, USFS debris flow model, Colorado Forest Restoration Institute (CFRI) hillslope erosion model, hillslope grade, and site visits, medium and high priority mitigation areas have been identified where point mitigation projects would be beneficial to the watershed.
