Description | 3.3.3.1.Level: ”MINIMUM REFURBISHMENT” (CLIN 0002) - Consisting of: a. Removing tube bundle b. Clean tube sheets and baffles c. Replace seals and gaskets d. Replace Anodes and gaskets e. Evaluate Drain Plug material. Ensure Drain Plug is a non-ferrous material; replace Drain Plug and Gasket as necessary f. Align Vent Tubes to the dimensions and appearance as per Drawing 855494 g. Pressure test Fluid Cooler to drawing specification h. Blast all surfaces to be painted using best industry practices to ensure paint adhesion i. Blast Nameplate from unit j. Wash the blasted unit with cleaning solution or equivalent using best industry practices k. Mask all areas not to be painted and place paper or other acceptable material on the openings of the unit to prevent the painting of the interior surfaces of the unit l. Use the Ameron paint system, Amerlock 2 for primer and PSX 700A for paint m. Primer Ameron Amerlock 2 - final maximum dry film thickness is not to exceed 10 mils n. Pot life for primer is one (1) hour at 70°F but can be extended by thinning with Amercoat 8, 65, or other manufacturer suggested thinner to 25% maximum o. Maximum re-coat not to exceed one (1) month Minimum recoat time is three (3) hours at 70°F p. Paint Ameron PSX 700 A - final maximum dry film thickness is not to exceed 10 mils q. Pot life for paint is four (4) hours at 70°F but can be extended by thinning with Amercoat 65, 70, or other manufacturer suggested thinner to 125% maximum r. There is no maximum re-coat time although the minimum recoat time is four and half (45) hours at 70°F s. Install Government provided Fluid Cooler Nameplate as per Drawing 296-1317 t. Remove all masking and material used during the repainting of the units 3.3.3.2.Level: ”MODERATE REFURBISHMENT” (CLIN 0003) - Consisting of: a. Perform a MINIMUM REFURBISHMENT b. Reassemble with new tubes. Perform a hydrostatic test of tube side of heat exchanger, plugged or replace up to 10% c. Replace baffles and tie rods, and/or weep drains, and/or rework flanges d. Apply coating to the inlet and outlet of the tube sheets 3.3.3.3.Level: ”MAJOR REFURBISHMENT” (CLIN 0004) - Consisting of: a. Perform MINIMUM REFURBISHMENT b. Perform MODERATE REFURBISHMENT c. Furnish and install new tubes and both tube sheets |
