Water Service Line 93 Green Bay Rd

A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The Village of Winnetka is now accepting bids for the Water Service Line 93 Green Bay Rd bid. Owner will receive sealed proposals for the Work generally described as follows: Water Service Line 93 Green Bay Rd. Pre-Bid Conference None. Contract Time If this Contract is accepted, Bidder proposes and agrees that Bidder shall commence the Work within 10 days after Owner's acceptance of the Contract provided Bidder shall have furnished to Owner all bonds and all insurance certificates specified in this Contract (the "Commencement Date"). If this Contract is accepted, Bidder proposes and agrees that Bidder shall perform the Work diligently and continuously and shall complete the Work by August 12, 2022. Bonds. Each Bidder's Proposal shall be accompanied by a security deposit of at least 10 percent of the Bidder's Price Proposal in the form of (1) a Cashier's Check or Certified Check drawn on a solvent bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and payable without condition to Owner or (2) a Bid Bond in a form satisfactory to Owner from a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Illinois with a general rating of A minus and a financial size category of Class X or better in Best's Insurance Guide. Furthermore, the awarded bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds totaling 100% of the contract amount no less than fourteen (14) days prior to the Contract start date. Owner reserves the right to make clarifications, corrections, or changes in this Request for Contract Proposals at any time prior to the time proposals are opened. All bidders or prospective bidders will be informed of said clarifications, corrections, or changes. Scope: Contractor to provide material, labor, and equipment to install 6" ductile water service at 93 Green Bay Road and perform disconnection of existing 3/4 "domestic service line. Contractor to provide and/or perform the following: o Traffic control including any needed signage and/or flaggers. o Temporary fencing and/or steel plates as needed to secure the site. o Sawcut as necessary from 10" water main, located approximately in the middle of Winnetka Avenue, to the 93 Green Bay Road property along with any additional sawcutting for the service line trench on the 93 Green Bay Road property. o If required, remove and/or create opening in existing concrete retaining wall in order to the route water service line onto the 93 Green Bay Road property. o Sawcut floor internally in building for installation of service line. o Excavate around main for installation of valve vault and install shoring for tapping of water main. o Excavate for 6" ductile water service (cement lined, Class 55 or greater) line. Minimum desired depth is 5'-0" to top of service line. Estimated length of service line is 50 feet (not including length of elevation changes.). o Install 60" precast offset valve vault with associated manhole collars and lid. o Water service line will be routed south from water main onto the 93 Green Bay Road property and turn east into the northwest corner of the building. Service line will extend into the building to a location, ~7 ft. from the west wall and 8 ft. from the north wall. o Water service line to be bedded in CA-6. Water service line will be backfilled with a minimum of 2' cover of CA-6 over the water service line. Flowable fill is required to bottom depth of the existing asphalt pavement. Final asphalt restoration to match existing asphalt depth which is estimated at 6". o Contractor to replace and restore any removed sections of concrete curb and sidewalk. o Contractor to restore interior building floor with cement. o Contractor responsible for the proper disposal of all spoils. o Water service line will be "stubbed" up from floor elevation approximately 2 ft.. At end of service line, install 90 degree fitting and 6" service valve. Valve to be supported. o Contractor to provide a reducing fitting on valve for flushing. o Provide and install direct tap corporation valve in valve vault for pressure test and chlorination. o Pressure test main (150 psi for 60 minutes). Test to be scheduled and witnessed by Village. o Flush and chlorinate service line. Contractor will need to provide hose for flushing of water service line. o Install polywrap around water service line prior to backfilling. o All fittings will be megalugs. o Contractor responsible for clean up and site restoration. Asphalt parking lot on 93 Green Bay Road site will be backed with CA-7 and capped with CA-6.
