Description

Improve the overall safety, and provide ADA-compliant pedestrian accommodations, at three selected locations that have been identified as in need of safety improvements by NJDOT as part of the Intersection Improvement Program (IPP). Location 1 - Route US 30 and Seagrove Avenue/Central Avenue (CR 542), Route US 30 and Pleasant Mills Road (CR 542), Town of Hammonton, Atlantic County: The PPA involves adding left turn lanes on US 30, traffic signal timing and traffic signal equipment upgrades to meet ADA and MUTCD requirements along with striping upgrades, ADA ramps, crosswalks, sidewalks, and shared use path. This alternative maintains 2 through lanes of traffic in both directions on Route US 30 through widening of US 30. The PPA also eliminates the intersection of Pleasant Mills Road with Route US 30 by converting Pleasant Mills Road into a cul-de-sac. Location 2 - Route US 130 and Riverton Road (CR 603), Cinnaminson Township, Burlington County: The PPA revises the circulation at the intersection of Route US 130 and Riverton Road (CR 603) to provide reverse jughandles to improve safety and congestion. The PPA also includes upgrading traffic signal layout, timing, and equipment to meet current standards, addition of sidewalks, shared use path, crosswalks, and ADA ramps, and striping improvements. Location 3 - Route US 30 and Franklin Avenue (CR 692), Berlin Borough, Camden County: The PPA involves adding left turn lanes on Route US 30, traffic signal timing and equipment upgrades to meet ADA and MUTCD requirements along with striping upgrades, ADA ramps, crosswalks, sidewalks and shared use path. This alternative maintains 2 through lanes of traffic in both directions on Route US 30 through widening at the intersection.
