Description | The project shall consist of the removal and replacement of the asphalt parking lot, concrete curbs, and sidewalk. Drainage improvements shall include removal and replacement of an existing trench drain and the extension of two trench drains. A new one-way entrance to the site shall be constructed from Claremont Avenue and the existing entrance on Quarry Street shall be widened to allow for the better flow of two-way traffic. An existing stone retaining wall along Quarry Street shall be removed and new embankment installed. During construction, this section of Quarry Street shall be closed while the wall is removed and embankment is installed. Each bidder shall be required to file a bid guaranty with the bid in the form of either: (1) Bid/Performance Bond in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the amount bid; or (2) a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Letter of Credit equal to 10% of the amount bid, conditioned that the bidder shall, if his bid is accepted, execute a contract in conformity with the bid, plans, details, specifications and bills of material. A Letter of Credit shall be revocable only at the option of the Ashland Public Library. Bidders must comply with Prevailing Wages on public improvements in Ashland County, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Labor and Worker Safety. The bid shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder. The Ashland Public Library Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any and all bids. |
