Description | Gainesville Housing Authority (GHA) is requesting proposals for mold remediation of a three bedroom, one full and one 1/2 bathroom 1,160 square foot single family house, 925 SE 43rd St. Unit #6 Gainesville FL. Background- There was water intrusion at the full bathroom, hallway, and two of the bedrooms. GHA has repaired all water leaks/sources of water intrusion. GHA has removed the water damaged sheetrock, insulation, bathtub and ceramic tile tub surround (see highlighted areas on attached floor plan). Scope of Work Summary 1. The work area shall include the entire unit 2. Set up negative air filtration 3. Clean – remediate all mold contaminated building material 4. Micro-clean all walls, ceilings and surfaces. HEPA vacuum and damp wipe with anti -microbial cleaning solution. 5. After the contractor completes the mold remediation GHA will contract with Air Spec to conduct a post remediation inspection and testing of the unit. 6. GHA will authorize contractor payment after the successful completion of Air Spec post remediation inspection and testing of the unit. Specific Mold Remediation Requirements 1. Negative Air: negative air machines should be used to provide ventilation during remediation activities. Install negative air machines in the bedrooms and exhaust through the window. Tightly seal the area where the duct passes through the open window. Open the kitchen window to provide make-up air. The negative air machines should be converted to air scrubber mode during non-working hours to maintain the security of the unit. The negative air/ air scrubber machine is to continue to operate a minimum of two day after all remediation is completed. 2. HVAC: GHA suggest operating the unit central air conditioning system. Prior to operating the central air conditioning system, the contractor is to install a MERV 8 air filter at the return air plenum for the central air conditioning system. 3. Micro – clean, damp wipe with anti -microbial cleaning solution all walls, ceilings, floors, building materials, fixtures, counters, cabinets, windows, doors, etc. All surfaces are to be HEPA vacuumed. 4. HVAC System: A complete cleaning of the HVAC system is to be performed by a licensed HVAC Contractor. Certificate of Completion or invoice from the HVAC Contractor showing the work was completed is to be attached to the Contractors final invoice for the work |
