Description

Meridian Community College reserves the right to reject any and or all bids, waive technicalities, informalities or irregularities in the bids received, solicit new bids or to choose that bid which is deemed to be in the best interest to the college. This lighting system design is intended to be broadscale performance based and not manufacturer specific Any questions regarding electronic bidding or access to bid documents should be directed to PH Bidding Group at 662-407-0193 or at cory@phbidding.com. Overview: 1. The intent of this system design is to replace the existing theatrical and house lighting system. 2. The current system utilizes a dimmer rack to control house lights, spotlights, main electrics in the house and electrics over the stage. This dimmer rack is to be removed and replaced with new dimmer channels for house lighting and relay circuits for the LED fixtures. The electrical conduits for the existing dimmer rack shall be re-routed. 3. Currently a variety of LED and incandescent fixtures are used. These are to all be replaced with new LED fixtures for the stage. 4. The existing electrical distribution bars above the stage may be re-used, but they will need to be repositioned higher than their current location. It is recommended to take them down and re-hang them in a higher position. 5. The existing bars that the lighting is installed upon are movable with a theatrical pipe/batten counterweight system. These bars are to be stripped of lights and left intact for the theater to use in their productions. The new lighting equipment on stage shall be dead hung above the stage with the electrical distribution bars above. Coordinate the height of the dead hung fixture batten to facilitate positioning the yoke of the fixture no lower than the bottom of the border which conceals the electric. 6. Each existing circuit in the current lighting system should have its own 20A dimmer or relay circuit in the new system. 7. Existing wall control locations shall be repurposed to support new wall controls for the new lighting system. If updated cabling is required for the new controllers, it shall be installed within the scope of this bid. 8. All equipment being uninstalled, removed, or otherwise being taken out of use to facilitate the installation of the new system shall be logged on a Surplus/Disposal form for the Inventory Control Specialist at Meridian Community College. This will allow the college to dispose of the equipment in the standard manner. No equipment shall be considered "in trade" for the new system being installed. The onus is on the successful bidder to complete the forms outlining all equipment to be sent to surplus or disposed. 9. The Design Consultant will work with Meridian Community College to ensure the received bids do meet the design intent and will provide for the required performance. If any bids are determined to not meet the desired performance criteria they will be summarily disqualified and not considered. 10. While no specific makes and models are required for the successful bidder to meet, it is expected that quality professional equipment will be utilized. This list should be used to encourage an appropriate level of equipment specification.
