Description

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: All work for the project shall be constructed in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications provided by Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc. and the proposed improvements will be awarded and constructed, if award is made, under one Construction Agreement. Bids shall be submitted for furnishing, delivering and installing all plan materials, equipment and services. The proposed scope of work consists of tasks including the complete rehabilitation of the City's Lift Station No. 5 located in the Treasure Island Condominium complex. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: In the event the Contract is awarded to the Bidder, they will thereafter enter into a written Construction Agre ement with the Owner and furnish Payment and Performance Bonds in an amount equal to the Contract Price, in strict accordance with Section 255.05 of Florida Statutes. Payment and Performance Bonds shall be secured from or countersigned by an agency or surety company recognized in good standing and authorized to do business in the State of Florida. BID BOND. A bid bond will be required in the amount of 5% of the Bid Price. Funding for this Project is through the State Revolving Fund (SRF) Program. The selected contractor shall implement Davis-Bacon wage rates, adhere to the requirements of the American Iron and Steel Act and provide weekly payroll information. Owner direct purchase (ODP) will also be used on items from a single manufacturer over $10,000 in price. In addition, the work will be performed within an easement on a private condominium property. Extreme caution must be used by the selected contractor. AWARD OF CONTRACT(S): If the Contract is to be awarded, it will be awarded as defined in the City of Cape Canaveral's Code of Ordinances, Sections 2-218 Procedure. The Owner reserves the right to accept any or all additive or deductive alternatives at its sole discretion subsequent to award of the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to waive technicalities or irregularities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid which is in the best interest of the City, in the sole and absolute discretion of the City. Reviewing and ranking of the firm's bid will be by City of Cape Canaveral Staff and the City's consultant. There will not be a need for any presentation by firms. The final selection will be presented to the City Council. The City reserves the right to withdraw this Request for Bid or any portion at any time to protect its best interests.
