A3 Main Building Stabilization Columbia Environmental Research Center

To stabilize their A3 Main Building to correct and prevent further settling of the building due to foundation and expansive soil deficiencies. The scope of work includes but is not limited to: Adding steel helical piles to shore up the foundation along the length of North and East perimeter at the corner and basement columns. Removal of high plastic clay beneath the slab, re-preparing the subgrade soil by moisture conditioning and compacting and reconstructing the slab. Replacement of below-slab mechanical air duct system. Rebuilding top several courses of load-bearing CMU and brick masonry walls where misaligned. Re-anchoring masonry wall to precast concrete roof planks. Removal, re-anchoring and reinstallation of existing aluminum and glass windows. Removal and replacement of sections of foamed-in-place roofing system at perimeter of the building. Replacing metal copings and flashing. Replacing interior partitions with new metal stud partition walls. Replacing existing interior lighting, controls, power and data, new interior floor, wall and ceiling. Removal and replacement of portions of existing concrete walk affected by the work.
