Description

The work consists of providing the necessary labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and plant to construct the 2020 Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements (0.75 MGD) including but not limited to: removing, relocating, and reinstalling the existing chlorinators; demolishing the existing disinfection building and the specified equipment; demolishing and modifying the existing NPW piping and chlorine solution piping; rental, installation, operation and maintenance, and removal of a temporary chlorine gas disinfection system to complete the work, including but not limited to temporary power, equipment, controls, associated piping and valves, chlorine gas, consumables, and site restoration; constructing one concrete masonry unit disinfection building, complete with two centrifugal non-potable water booster pumps; demolishing sections of elevated concrete walkway and handrail and installing two fabricated steel bridges across the sequence batch reactor basins, complete with aluminum handrails and kickplates; providing, installing, maintaining, and removing temporary bypass piping, valves, and temporary manual bar screen to remove the headworks from service for rehabilitation; pressure blasting all headworks interior surfaces, repairing deteriorated concrete and exposed rebar, and applying 100% solids epoxy coatings to all headworks interior concrete surfaces; installing an FRP pull gate sized to fit the rehabilitated concrete headworks as specified; demolishing the existing headworks FRP covers, repairing the existing grating embeds and installing fabricated steel grating; blasting and recoating miscellaneous piping; replacing butterfly valves at the chlorine contact basin; constructing concrete paving; demolishing and replacing all stanchion light fixtures at the Headworks, SBR Basins and Chlorine Contact Basin; installing new stanchion light poles with stanchion light fixtures at the bridges across the SBR basins; demolishing and replacing floodlight fixtures at the lift station and digester blowers; demolishing all existing electrical conduits and fittings, boxes, panels, switches, receptacles, lighting, devices and appurtenances attached to the existing chlorine building; relocating the existing disinfection equipment electrical rack the new disinfection building; reconfiguring the existing Disinfection PLC control panel; installing lighting, receptacles, conduits, wires and miscellaneous items at the new disinfection building; installing new control panel, disconnect switches, conduits, wires and miscellaneous for the NPW system; constructing duct banks with conduits and wires and installing handholes and all other piping, valves, fittings, clearing and grubbing, site work, coatings, and miscellaneous items as specified and shown in the contract documents.
