Description | The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking roofing services (approximately 5,500 square feet) at its Lucerne Valley Fire Station; located in San Bernardino County. Potential Bidders who attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting may submit written questions regarding the bid by 2:00 p.m. on November 14, 2022. All questions should be emailed in writing to Sarah.Best@fire.ca.gov and CAL FIRE will provide answers to questions by written response on November 15, 2022. NO QUESTIONS will be entertained after November 14, 2022. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Contractor agrees to provide to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) roofing services, as described herein: Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, and fees necessary to demolish, dispose of, and install approximately 5,500 square feet (SF) of metal roofing, install approximately 950 square feet of metal soffit, and install approximately 210 linear feet (LF) of rain gutter and requisite downspouts, for three (3) buildings at CAL FIRE's Lucerne Valley Fire Station. Barracks Building Demolish and dispose of existing roofing and install approximately 4,700 square feet of metal roofing (including vented ridge); install approximately 750 square feet of metal soffit; install approximately 160 linear feet of rain gutter (including leaf guards) and requisite downspouts. Roofing - Remove existing composition shingle roofing (2 layers) and underlayment to exposed plywood sheeting; replace degraded plywood sheeting as needed and approved by CAL FIRE Project Representative (line item quote to include assumed 50% sheeting replacement); install new metal roofing per provided specifications and manufacturer requirements; all additional penetrations and roofing openings to be weathered and installed for per manufacturer installation specifications (including plumbing, venting, mechanical (HVAC curbs); install approximately 160 linear feet of raingutter per provided details and specifications; all demo materials and construction debris to be removed and disposed of at the expense of the contractor. Soffit & Fascia - Remove existing wood soffit materials; install new metal soffit & fascia per provided specifications and applicable manufacturer requirements (changes from CAL FIRE specifications must be approved by CAL FIRE prior to execution of any work); all penetrations and openings to be weathered and properly trimmed out. Gas House Building Demolish and dispose of existing roofing and install approximately 575 square feet of metal roofing (including vented ridge); install approximately 200 square feet of metal soffit; install approximately 50 linear feet of rain gutter (including leaf guards) and requisite downspouts.
