Description

Clarification Deadline 3/29/2023 4:00 PM Questions may be submitted through electronically on or before deadline. Responses will be provided via electronically to all registered parties. The work includes but is not limited to all labor, materials, tools, oversight and permits required to provide asbestos abatement supervision, properly demolish structures, cap and remove all existing utilities, and/ or coordinate the capping or removal of utilities, site grading and restoration, and disposal of all demolition materials for the following properties: 158 Main Street, Berwick, PA 164 Main Street, Berwick, PA 432-434 E. Front Street, Berwick, PA Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond with a corporate surety authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, in accordance with the project specifications in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount. A Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder as detailed in the Instructions to Bidders. Prevailing Wage Rates shall apply. Salem Township reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or portions or to waive any informalities in bidding and to withhold award for a period of sixty days. 158 Main Street, Berwick, PA 18603 1. Demolition, removal, and disposal off-site of the following: a. Properly provide asbestos abatement supervision and copy township with all applicable environmental documentation. b. Entire two-story structure including an attic and basement with decks and porches. c. All debris located in and around the structures. d. Concrete footings and foundations, including slab and basement. Any improvements greater than 3 feet below grade may be left to remain in place. Burying debris is prohibited. Slabs remaining in place shall be punched at 2' O.C. both directions to promote drainage. e. Remove all shrubbery, trees, and bushes on the property. Additionally, remove all previously cut logs from property. f. Disconnect and remove existing electrical lines back to the source. 1) Shall also include coordination with the utility company for electric service disconnection and remove in its entirety. g. Disconnect sanitary pipe and cap 3-feet beyond the extent of excavation. h. Disconnect water line and cap 3-feet beyond the extent of excavation. i. Coordination of all other utilities capping and abandonment. j. Fill in excavation with on-site fill and imported suitable fill. k. Grade the site to provide positive slope to the with suitable drainage areas, after excavations have been backfilled. l. Furnish and install seed over the entire disturbed area. Provide suitable fill and/or topsoil as required for proper grading.164 Main Street, Berwick, PA 18603 1. Demolition, removal and disposal off-site of the following: a. All shrubbery, all trees less than 12", and bushes within 15-feet of the structure. i. Disconnect and remove existing electrical lines back to the source. 1) Shall also include coordination with the utility company for electric service disconnection and remove in its entirety. j. Disconnect sanitary pipe and cap 3-feet beyond the extent of excavation. k. Disconnect water line and cap 3-feet beyond the extent of excavation. l. Disconnect and properly dispose of above ground storage tank in rear of property. m. Coordination of all other utilities capping and abandonment. n. Fill in excavation with on-site fill and imported suitable fill. o. Grade the site to provide positive slope to the with suitable drainage areas, after excavations have been backfilled. p.
