Description

The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. The project consists of various types of repairs and upgrades associated with increasing handicap accessibility to the campus. Scope ranges from exterior sidewalk / ramp improvements to interior bathroom upgrades in various buildings, and in various site areas of the campus. Additionally, the scope includes installation of two new elevators, one at 909 Decker and another at the John Britt building. Because the multiple buildings are in use and will remain occupied during construction, the General Contractor shall coordinate schedules and access with Lee College. nitially, assume that all noise-causing work inside buildings shall take place late nights and weekends (10pm-7am during the week even during summer months; unlimited schedule during the weekends). 2. Contractor shall make provisions to build temporary partitions to separate the areas of work from adjacent occupied building areas; and ensure that no students or other unauthorized personnel enters the site. 3. Contractor shall make provisions for temporary re-routing of exterior pedestrian access when exterior work impacts current travel paths. Provide temporary paths and associated signage. B. Type of Contract: Competitive Sealed Proposals (CSP) 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. HAZARDOUS MATERIALS A. Contractor, by executing this Contract, accepts responsibility for prohibiting materials or products containing asbestos from being furnished, used, or installed on this Project. B. Should Contractor, knowingly or otherwise, furnish, use, or install materials or products containing asbestos on the Project, Contractor will not have met the requirements of this Contract. C. Owner requires, under terms of this Contact, that asbestos containing materials or lead-based paint are prohibited from being used on the Project
