Description

Bid for the acquisition and installation of 5 valve insertions in the live Windham Water Works Distribution System. The selected contractor shall have the ability to furnish and install, in coordination with the Owner, valve insertions (that fully comply with the technical specifications included in this package) in the vicinity of the following addresses: 6-inch valve insertion on cast iron pipe near 1225 Main St. Willimantic CT 6-inch valve insertion on cast iron pipe near 465 Prospect St. Willimantic CT 6-inch valve insertion on cast iron pipe near 94 Prospect St. Willimantic CT 6-inch valve insertion on cast iron pipe near 59 Bolivia St. Willimantic CT 12-inch valve insertion on cast iron pipe near 254 Mansfield Ave. Willimantic CT The Owner of the Project shall be responsible for the following: Apply for and get all permits required to proceed with a project of this nature. Complete the excavation (per Contractor's specifications) prior to the arrival of the contractor on site. Provide traffic control and safety measures required by the project. Restore site to original conditions. Windham Water Works reserves the right to reject any or all bids, should the Town deem it to be in the public interest to do so, or to delete or reduce the scope of any work to bring the cost within available funds. The Town of Windham allows a ten percent (10%) local town-based bidder preference (Town Ordinance / Resolution No. 984) for projects of more than five thousand dollars ($5,000) and less than one million dollars ($1,000,000). A Town of Windham based business will be considered the lowest responsible bidder if its bid is within ten percent (10%) of the low bid and it is willing to accept the award at the low bid price. Any bidder claiming to be a Town of Windham based business must provide evidence that it meets the requirements of Section F of the Ordinance.
