Arborist Services

1. Recommendations a. Tree removal recommendations b. Tree pruning recommendations c. Tree planting recommendations d. Dying tree and shrub analysis and recommendations 2. Customer Service a. Contact residents on tree concerns within five (5) working days of request sent by DPW Designated Representative b. Answer questions from contractors, developers, engineers, city staff and the public regarding tree related issues 3. Training city crews on proper tree trimming techniques and safety practices both in the classroom and in the field 4. Research and Administrative Services a. Monitor an estimated four (4) tree removal/pruning contracts for bid specification compliance. b. Aid in preparation of bid documents and specifications for contracted tree work c. Maintain files and provide updates to DPW designated representative regarding contracted tree work d. Inspecting projects in progress and upon completion for tree related issues e. Researching, compiling and documenting information required for reimbursement, as applicable f. Data gathering for input to the Tree City USA Award 5. Performing special assignments as directed by the Department of Public Works staff. 6. The Contractor will operate City vehicles in the performance of Arborist duties.
