Description

The San Tan Area Drainage Master Plan (ADMP) will characterize drainage and flooding hazards within a study area covering approximately 45.8 square miles comprising portions of the towns of Queen Creek and Gilbert, Pinal County, the Gila River Indian Community and unincorporated Maricopa County. This study will update and refine the findings of the original San Tan West ADMS completed in 2013 (FCD contract 2012C011) and the San Tan West ADMS Update completed in 2018 (FCD contract 2017C015). This ADMP includes five primary work efforts: 1) an update of previously collected data regarding flooding and drainage infrastructure, 2) hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using a two dimensional FLO-2D model and updated aerial topography, 3) preparation of a flood hazard assessment that will identify existing flood hazards and drainage problems, 4) preparation of a Flood Hazard Mitigation Plan (FHMP) to identify potential solutions for flood-prone areas, and 5) development of selected preferred alternative regional flood control solutions refined to a 30% conceptual design.
