Description

Phase I, currently under contract, includes site work, underground utilities and hazardous material abatement of buildings to be demolished in phase II. Construction of new NCDPS Corrections facilities to replace buildings being demolished during phase II are also in phase I work. Phase II includes demolition of existing correctional facilities on the project site and the following new facilities: General Site Work: Site grading, underground storm-water system, site utilities, asphalt and concrete paving, security fencing and gates, seeding and landscaping. Building 1 Central Building: Primary readiness center building comprising two story administrative wing, single story drill hall with commercial kitchen, and a single story storage/locker area wing. Building 2 General Purpose Training Bay (Alternate A-6): One story vehicle maintenance bay with associated storage and office space. Bid alternate. Building 3 Unheated Storage Building: One story metal building. Building 4 Washbay (Alternate A-2): Freestanding external washbay, open steel frame construction, standing seam metal roof. Please note this building is being added to the project by design amendment, not yet executed, no structural drawings available at this time. Bid Alternate. Building 5 Guardhouse (Alternate A-3): Freestanding guardhouse at entry control point, load-bearing masonry construction, standing seam metal roof. Bid alternate. Demolition work includes demolition of site improvements and buildings. Buildings to be demolished include: a 16-story correctional building, two metal buildings, three classroom modulars and four freestanding guardtowers. Asbestos and other hazardous materials abatement will be performed under the Phase I contract prior to the Notice to Proceed for Phase II. New work includes but is not limited to: concrete slab on grade, masonry and metal stud walls, structural steel, steel pan stairs, metal roof and wall panels, membrane roofs, hollow metal doors and frames, solid core wood doors, storefront doors and framing, coiling overhead doors, interior and exterior glazing, tile, epoxy terrazzo, resilient floor finishes, fluid applied epoxy flooring, acoustic ceiling panel systems, toilet partitions and accessories, commercial kitchen equipment, laminate casework, solid surface counters, pre-engineered metal buildings, passenger elevator, fire sprinkler systems, plumbing, mechanical electrical and telecom systems.
