Southeast Transmission Water Line - City of Houston

This is a co-participation project with the City of Houston and other participants in the upgrade of the main north / south surface water transmission pipeline from the Southeast Water Purification Plant along State Highway 3. Texas Department of Transportation plans to widen State Highway 3 and it will be necessary to remove the existing pipeline from the State right-of-way in preparation for that project. This presents an opportunity to up-size this transmission line when it is removed from the easement. The removal / construction project will be managed by the City of Houston and Participant's cost share will be based on a pro- rata use according to their distribution allocation. Friendswood's distribution allocation from this line is balanced by its distribution As of July 26, 2022, a design engineer has been selected. Construction is anticipated to take place in 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
