Engineering Building Unit 2 (EBU2) HVAC Replacement

Engineering Building Unit II (EBU II), located in the Muir College Quad of UCSD's main campus, is primarily a Laboratory/Research mid-rise facility comprised of 5 floors and a basement. The building is separated by 3 wings (2 laboratories & 1 office), which creates an open quad in the center. Supply air, at each wing, is generated by custom Air Handler Units (AHUs) and multiple fan coils throughout. Based on a recent evaluation of the supply air system multiple pieces of equipment have surpassed their useful life and in recent years have begun to fail impacting research within the facility. The primary objective of the project is to replace seven (7) pieces of HVAC equipment that are original to the building's current lifespan (29 years). Estimated project duration is 500 calendar days. Estimated construction cost: $2,000,000 Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Lump Sum Base Bid, excluding alternates, shall accompany each Bid. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
