Description

The work consists of improvements at two (2) of the Township of Scotch Plain’s existing sanitary sewage pumping stations, which are named the Raritan Road Pump Station and Lamberts Mill Road Pump Station. The improvements at both the Raritan Road Pump Station and Lamberts Mill Road Pump Station consist of the selective demolition and removal of existing pump station equipment and controls, replacement of existing dry-pit submersible sewage pumps and motors; replacement of existing main control panel including primary and backup level control systems; replacement of variable frequency drives (VFD’s); piping modifications including replacement of discharge and suction valves and piping in the dry well; replacement of ventilation system components in the drywell and control room area; replacement of unit heaters in the drywell and control/generator rooms; reconfiguration of existing water service plumbing inside the existing pump station buildings to facilitate a connection point for new backflow preventer; installation of new exterior mounted frost-proof hose bid, telemetry upgrades including Ethernet communication capability for future SCADA system networking; and sewage flow maintenance / bypass pumping. The Raritan Road Pump Station is located along Raritan Road west of Manitou Way in the Township of Scotch Plains. The Lamberts Mill Road Pump Station is located on Lamberts Mill Road and adjacent to the Robert Wood Johnson Rahway Fitness and Wellness Center in the Township of Scotch Plains.
