The Super Pulsator was built and placed into service in 1996. The primary removal of sediment and bacteria from our lakes occurs in the Pulsator. The Pulsator uses coagulation chemicals with a very low pH of 1.5, to form floc particles, that trap the dirt and bacteria in the floc due to the positive charge of the coagulation chemicals. These floc particles, when formed, are heavier than the surrounding water and settle out due to gravity. This settling process is called sedimentation. The tubes in the Pulsator are currently 26 years old and have exceeded their useful life due to UV exposure and the low pH coagulation chemical we use. The City of High Point, Public Services Department, is seeking qualified vendors to supply Tube Settlers for the Super Pulsator at the Ward Water Plant located at, 121 N. Pendleton St., High Point, NC 27260. The scope of this project is for a Vendor to supply replacement settling tubes for both the North and South sides of the City of High Point Super Pulsator (see original construction drawings dated 1996). Tubes should meet NSF Standard 61 Drinking Water System Components and be resistant to UV exposure. The price shall include freight delivery to the Ward Water Plant on Conestoga trailers. The pulsator basins include the following dimensions; (2) 16'-0" wide x 103'-8" long basins and (4) 16'-0" wide x 47'-10" long basins all with two ft widths modules. |
