Signalization of the Intersection of Pomona Road (CR 575) and Vera King Farris Drive

The proposed improvements will include the installation of a new traffic signal at the existing unsignalized 3-way intersection along with roadway improvements to provide a dedicated northbound right turn channel and dedicated southbound left turn lane on Pomona Road (CR-575). Widening on Pomona Road will be completed along the easterly and westerly sides of the roadway. Minor roadway profile improvements will be made on Pomona Road approaching the intersection, along with minor pavement reconstruction to provide uniform lane widths. The remaining areas of existing pavement within the project area will be milled and resurfaced to provide a smooth riding surface and to accommodate the changes in traffic striping. Stormwater drainage systems will be constructed to handle the additional impervious cover. Other improvements include curbing, sidewalk, accessible curb ramps, resurfacing of project limits, traffic striping/markings/symbols, signing, raised pavement markers, traffic signals, vehicle detection, pedestrian push buttons & signals, advanced traffic signal management/communication, and all other items shown on the project plans. Three (3) separate image detection systems will be acquired through this project for use at this project location and other locations in the County.
