Description | As of June 26, 2023, construction is underway and commenced April 2023. BP01 - HVAC & Plumbing $15,000,000 C-20 & C-36 BP02 - Electrical $10,000,000 C-10 BP04 - Exterior Skin / Glass & Glazing $12,000,000 C-17 Rudolph and Sletten, Inc. (R&S) and The University of California San Diego (UCSD) invite the prequalified subcontractors listed above to submit a Design Assist Best Value Technical proposal with Design Assist Preconstruction Fees Lump Sum bid for the UCSD Viterbi Family Vision Research Center project. Rudolph and Sletten and The University reserves the right to reject any, or all, proposals or to withhold the award of this project for any reason it may determine. The Best Value bid consists of two parts; Part 1 is the Technical Proposal attached hereto to be submitted separately per the schedule outline in this invite. Part 2 is a Lump Sum Bid for your Design Assist Preconstruction Services. The lowest responsible bidder will be selected on the basis of the best value to Rudolph and Sletten and the University. The best value to Rudolph and Sletten and the University will be determined using the Bidders Lump Sum bid divided by the total points scored in the Technical Proposal. The bidder with the lowest price per point will be awarded the project. RFI Deadline August 11, 2022, 5:00 PM A mandatory pre-bid clarification meeting for all bidders will be conducted via Zoom. Participants shall use the Zoom meeting invite link below to access this mandatory pre-bid meeting. Bidders shall come prepared with questions concerning this Best Value, bid approach. For further information, contact Rudolph and Sletten, Dave Jesme, at 619-432-0117. If necessary, an addendum will be issued to all bidders after the pre-bid meeting to answer questions and further clarify the Best Value bid approach. Technical Proposal: Technical proposals are due August 24, 2022, 10:00 AM and are to be emailed to R&S at david.jesme@rsconst.,com with a copy to ariana.leon@rsconst.com . Proposals will be scored privately by representatives from UCSD, R&S and Design Team. Interviews: For those bidders that have reached the minimum score of 700 points on questions 1 through 6 on their technical will be invited to interview. Individual interview dates and time will be scheduled August 26, 2022, by 4:00 PM. Interview will be conducted at R&S's office, 7584 Metropolitan Dr. Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92108. Interviews will be attended by and scored by representatives from UCSD, R&S and Design Team. Preliminary Plans and Specifications will be available on August 1, 2022 and will be issued electronically. The successful Bidders and their subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the work. The Viterbi Family Vision Research Center will be a new building to provide space for research on various ophthalmologic diseases as well as expand interdisciplinary collaborations across campus and the San Diego Community to accelerate the pace of discovery and innovation for vision research. The project is on the Health Sciences East Neighborhood of the La Jolla Campus, just west of the Shiley Eye Institute within the existing academic-medical complex. The Viterbi Research Center is anticipated to be approximately 100,000 overall gross square feet (OGSF) based upon a preliminary program assessment. The overall project site area is approximately 120,000 square feet. The building structure will be sited on the East half of the site which is approximately 50,000 square feet, and the remaining west half will be restored to a parking lot and open landscaped space. The building will be a combination of wet lab and computational space, along with all supporting spaces including a vivarium, administration area, conference space, clinical trial space, and a cafe. |
