E-Rate 2020–2021 470 Leased Lit, Leased Dark and Self-Provisioned Network

Multi-site fiber optic installations and capabilities to provide responsive service for the installation of Leased Lit, Leased Dark or Self-Provisioned Network fiber optic infrastructure. The current existing and owned SDMC fiber optic network system provides point to point 10 Gbps connectivity to 52 district school sites and support center sites; as such and due to the increased utilization of the broadband services by students and staff in the support of teaching and learning, SDMC is requesting a minimum of a 10 Gbps Leased Lit Service or Leased Dark Fiber Service (2 strands per site) or the Installation of Self Provisioned Network (144f main backbone line with 24f laterals). The intent of this RFP is to secure Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity of schools in compliance with the requirements of the Universal Services Administrative Company (USAC), School and Library E-Rate program. Each facility designated in this RFP shall be provided with a network connection speed of 10 Gbps, the same speed that all other SDMC owned fiber backbone sites employ.
