Description

The CCR Sand & Gravel IM-0425 project is located in the Harrisville Township in Medina County, Ohio. Directions to the site are as follows: From Exit 204 on I-71, travel north on SR 83 approximately 0.92 miles to Seville Rd. (46). Turn right on to Seville Rd and travel approximately 0.5 miles to Jamison Rd (151). Turn left on to Jamison Rd and travel approximately 0.22 miles to the access road on the right. Travel approximately 420 feet and turn left and follow the access road for approximately 0.3 miles to the site. The Pre-Bid Meeting will take place on site. The project's latitude and longitude are N41.01999º, - W81.98094º based on WGS84 datum. The scope and intent of this project is to remediate the abandoned surface mine site by eliminating the dangerous highwalls, steep spoil slopes, erosion gullies as shown on the project plans. Drainage controls shall be established utilizing grass swells, long mild slopes and existing ponds. Proposed reclamation shall include approximately 64,202 cubic yards of earthwork to backfill 2,000 feet of highwall. Approximately 226 tons of Type D rock and 111 tons of No. 3 and No. 4 stone shall be used for channel construction. Temporary erosion and sedimentation controls including silt fence, straw bale dikes, earthen berms, sumps and existing ponds shall be used. Aggregate for the maintenance of the access road will also be utilized and will remain permanent. Following highwall backfill operations, the site will be limed, fertilized, seeded and mulched for permanent stabilization.
