| Description | The Work consists of metal roof panel replacement on Roof Area 1 at the DPW Cold Storage Building in Janesville, Wisconsin for Rock County.The existing roof system consists of exposed-fastener metal panels installed directly over open wood framing. The overall scope of work involves removal of the existing panels and installation of new exposed-fastener metal panels over the wood framing, as further described below. C. The Work includes: 1. Installation of new perimeter sheet metal flashings and trim (drip edge on all 4 perimeters, ridge cap) with new prefinished galvanized sheet metal, as shown in the Construction Drawings. 2. Replacement/repair of rotted wood framing components in isolated areas, below the existing panels, as follows: a. Wherever the horizontal 2x4 wood purlins are rotted, complete the following work: 1) Remove rotted 2x4 purlin in full lengths, between trusses, so that replacement pieces will be continuous across three (3) separate trusses (2 spans), minimum. 2) Install new 2x4 purlin, fastened to the existing trusses (matching existing fastening method) |
