Description | As of September 9, 2022, construction is underway. No further inquiries to be accepted. Project No- 2019.112.1 The project includes, but is not limited to: Repairs and renovations of the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) South Pacific Aquarium (SPA) Shark Tank and associated spaces. 1. Main Shark & Blue Hole Tanks: Removal of existing systems and exhibit elements for concrete repair work. Clean, polish, and re-install the vision panels. Provide updated LSS system and distribution with new exhibits. New exhibit includes a modified dive experience area. 2. Lagoon - Tropical Fish Tank: Clean, polish, and re-install the vision panels. Provide updated LSS system. 3. Coral Tank: Provide the shell and core expansion of the east deck area for a new exhibit. The existing exterior concrete and frame wall shall have a new opening cut for the display view windows. Install three tanks (FOIC). No mechanical, electrical or LSS Systems in scope. 4. Skylight Replacement: Replace the translucent skylight (Kalwall) in-kind. The ridge beam must be replaced as part of this work. Replace the ceiling fans (FOIC) and salvage the exiting. 5. Lab, Office, and Other Areas: Replace three exterior metal doors. Repair concrete spalls. Provide a new resinous flooring system to staff work areas. Metro Parks Tacoma encourages an MWBE goal of eight percent (8%) on a Public Works PROJECT ESTIMATED AT $20,000.00 OR MORE including Subcontractors: The Washington State Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprises (OMWBE) certifies firms that are owned and controlled by minorities or women, and can provide information regarding the certification process.
