Description

Project consists of correcting storm drainage as indicated in the civil drawings and replacing the gym flooring as indicated in the architectural drawings. Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below. Bid proposals must be delivered in a sealed envelope marked plainly on the outside of the envelope with the following: "Philadelphia High School Gym, Renovations; Project number 22023 to be opened July 28, 2022" Envelope shall be addressed to Dr. Lisa Hull, Superintendent, Philadelphia Public School District, 248 Byrd Avenue, Philadelphia, MS 39350. In addition, the envelope shall list the bidders Company name, Company address and all applicable state and local license and registration numbers of the bidder. Envelopes not so marked are submitted at the risk of the bidder as the Owner and Architect assume no responsibility for the premature opening of any bid envelope by any employee of the Owner or Architect. Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank proposal forms provided with the specifications and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid: such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute a contract and post-Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. The owner reserves the right to postpone action and final decision for a period of up to ninety (90) days. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work by Substantial Completion August 1, 2023. Work is subject to liquidated damages. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.
