Alto Crest Water Treatment Plant (Plant 3) Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation of a 2.0 MGD surface water treatment plant to include the following Base Bid Work Items: Selective demolition and replacement of conventional filtration treatment process equipment, including flocculators, settling tubes, filtration media and underdrain, backwash troughs, and chemical feed and air scour backwash accessories. Selective demolition and renovation of existing portions of the building envelope. Raw and filtered water process piping modifications including installation of 12-inch hydraulic control valve with electronic controls. Renovation of existing bathroom and building access to comply with ADA accessibility requirements. Chlorine gas handling safety improvements including ventilated cylinder cabinets, gas detection equipment and emergency shut off valves. Removal and replacement of existing HVAC equipment with new HVAC equipment including ventilation modifications in the Chlorine Room. Installation of a new 230 (approximate) square foot fabricated chemical storage building including all gas release detection and safety equipment, related site work, foundation construction, and electrical power provisions. Installation of a new 2-ton docklift including all related site work, foundation construction, and electrical power extension. Installation and system integration of existing and new process control equipment including all valve actuators for plant control during backwash operations. Installation of a new 2,500-gallon outdoor XLPE coagulant storage tank including all related site work, buried transfer piping, transfer pump with heated enclosure, electrical power extension, and tank instrumentation and controls. Installation of 16-inch plant finished water isolation valve. Minor structural improvements including the construction of new elevated walkways. Other miscellaneous electrical, site, and safety improvements. Construction of fire-rated walls in garage and gas storage room. The project also includes the following Additive Alternate Work Items: Permanent 100 kW diesel engine drive emergency generator set with integral, double contained fuel tank including all related work. Installation of a new roofing overlay system. Covering of the existing pre-engineered metal building walls with an exterior insulation and finish stucco siding system. Replacement of the existing high bay fluorescent lighting with LED lighting. Installation of an electrified 0.5-ton jib crane in the Finished Water Pumping Gallery.
