Description | The rebid of this project closed on October 6, 2022 and was marked not awarded. This CR 42 Lane Departure Mitigation safety improvements project is with Lake County. The total project length is 19.284-miles from the Marion County line to SR 44. Project scope involves constructing 6-foot to 8-foot wide shoulders (5-foot wide paved including stabilization, base, asphalt and 1-foot to 3-foot unpaved) for approximately 0.95 miles in curves along CR 42 and installing center and shoulder audible vibratory treatment (AVT). Other construction activities include mobilization, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, clearing and grubbing (including selective clearing and grubbing), excavation, embankment, turnout reconstruction, curb and gutter, guardrail installation, sodding, new mast arm signalization installation at the intersection of CR 42 and CR 439, drainage improvements, signing and pavement markings. This project is funded through a Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation. A response will not be accepted if completed and submitted after the official due date and time. Bids may be withdrawn prior to the date of opening, but no bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of opening of bids. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive formalities, and to award the contract in the best interest of Lake County, Florida. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee acceptable to the County Attorney, which shall be one of the following; bid bond or letter of credit, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the base bid and made payable to Lake County. Said bid bond or letter of credit shall be a guarantee that should the bid be accepted, the bidder will, within ten (10) days after written notice of the award of the contract, enter into a contract with Lake County for the services proposed to be performed and will at that time furnish an acceptable contract surety.
